Descend hundreds of feet to walk on natural stone walkways and enjoy amazing natural scenery and adventure.

Over 10 million visitors have explored Ausable Chasm, the oldest natural attraction in the USA (est. 1870)! The amazing sights of the chasm will take your breath away. Enjoy walking along our towering cliff walks in the midst of a primeval forest that peers into the chasm from many scenic overlooks and vistas. Descend 150 feet into the depths of the chasm to walk along our famous Inner Sanctum trail that has amazed guests for 140 years! Sturdy walkways, bridges and stairs make this adventure possible - a unique experience that is not to be missed!

Make it a "Classic Tour." After a minimum one-mile walk through the Chasm, sit back and relax while you float the legendary Ausable River with your family in one of our custom rafts or choose an inner tube for a one-of-a-kind adventure.

Cave & Falls Hike. Compliment your visit with one of our newest guided adventures. Explore the Upper Chasm from Devil's Oven Cave to the base of Rainbow Falls. This one hour adventure takes guests to areas of the Chasm inaccessible without a guide. View the destruction from the Great Floods of '96 and the remains of the old Horseshoe Nail Factory from the late 19th century.

Lantern Tours. Can't make it during the day? Want to view the chasm by lantern light? This is for you! This two-hour guided adventure will showcase the famous Inner Sanctum Trail and includes a marshmallow roast! Tours begin at dusk and reservations are required: 866-RV-CHASM or 518-834-9990.

Stay at the Ausable Chasm Campground & Cabins or at the Chasm Motel for the full experience: 866-RV-CHASM or 518-834-9990.

WINTER: Ausable Chasm is now offering spectacular winter tours. Avoid the large crowds of summer and literally have the entire park to yourself. Choose the 30-minute winter waterfall walk to casually view the nearly frozen Rainbow Falls and the famous Elephant's Head. Or, choose a one or two hour guided adventure that will explore remote sections of the chasm, and marvel at 150 foot icicles and unique rock formations blanketed in snow.
