Sacandaga River

Hamilton County, NY

Overview

The Sacanadaga River is a great location for anglers searching for trout in the Adirondacks.

The water flow from Speculator to Wells is a great spot for brown trout and brook trout. Wells has excellent access, deep pools, and heft stockings. Upstream from the DEC campground is the best spot for fly fishers seeking wild brook trout.

It is very easy to access the river because Route 30 parrallels the main branch of the river. A DEC campground is located south of Wells that created great access for this section.
