Lake Placid is located at the Northern Part of the Lake Placid Village. Lake Placid has an area of 2,170 acres and averages about 50ft in depth. Maintaining the lake's water quality is a major issue the Lake Placid Village faces, as the lake is the main source of drinking water for residents. The body of water is fed by mountain streams and connects to East lake and West Lake.
The Lake Placid Waters are home to many Lake Placid NY residents. Bordering the Lake there are almost 300 seasonal and residential lake homes. In the center of Lake Placid, you'll find Buck Island and Moose Island, home to many camps and estates.
Lake Placid provides an abundance of outdoor recreational opportunities. Both residents and visitors love the Adirondack Fishing Lake Placid provides as the lake is filled with trout. Boating on Lake Placid is also common as Buck Island and Moose Island homes can only be accessed by boat.
