Details on the many varied competitions at the I Love BBQ Festival in Lake Placid NY and instructions on how to enter.

Lake Placid Idol
July 5th 3:00 PM - 7:00 PM

8 Pre-Selected Music Performers will be judged 50% and 50% Public Meter. Top 3 Performers will be selected after 9:00 PM on July 5th. Then those 3 top Music Acts will be invited to perform in September at the Lake Placid Center for the Arts. During their performance the audience will choose the winner. 1st Place $1,000, 2nd Place $300, 3rd Place $200.

Top Chef Award
Best Cooking Demonstration

As in the past there will be cooking demonstrations held throughout the I Love BBQ Festival. This year the festival is giving out awards for the top demonstrations.
1st Place: $500, 2nd: $300, 3rd: $200, 4th-6th: $50

Buck-A-Rib People’s Choice Award
July 5th 12:00 - 3:00 PM

Taste ribs prepared by the teams.  For $1 you will be able to purchase one rib/taste and later select the winning team. Try as many ribs as you like and then cast your vote.  The winning team will receive two (2) airline tickets on Southwest Airlines anywhere in the continental U.S. 
2nd Place: $200-, 3rd: $100-, 4th - 10th: $50-/each

Cooking Class
On July 4th 12:00 - 4:00 pm

Learn bbq cooking techniques with Steve Farrin - pit Master of I Smell Smoke the 2006 New York State Champion and I Love Barbecue Festival Grand Champion.

Learn how to cook chicken, ribs and other foods to make a barbecue fun and delicious for all your party guests. Bring a pencil, paper and of course your appetite!  Cost per person is $95.
