I Love BBQ Festival Lake Placid NY

Over 40 teams expected to compete in this year's I Love BBQ Festival in Lake Placid NY.

LAKE PLACID NY -- The I Love BBQ Festival returns to Lake Placid July 3 - 5, 2009! Events and entertainment include grilling and barbeque competitions, food demonstrations (and top chef award), live music, celebrity appearances, children's rides and activities and much more.

New for 2009! This year, the festival will include the first-ever I Love BBQ Junior World Championship on July 4th, where barbecue competitors just 16 - 21 years of age will vie for the title and $1,000 in cash and prizes.

40 teams from all over the US, along with some international teams will compete in various grilling contests at this year's I Love BBQ Festival in Lake Placid. The main event is the KCBS Grand Championship, sanctioned by the Kansas City Barbecue Society. The winner receives prize money and title of ILBBQF Grand Champion. So if you love bbq, head to the 4th Annual I Love Barbeque Festival, and join more than 8,000 people casting votes for the nation's best bbq chicken, pork ribs, pulled pork and beef brisket.

Admission: $6 Adult, Under 12 FREE
Proceeds for this event benefit the Shipman Youth Center, a local resource & recreation center for Lake Placid's Youth.

• 5:00 pm: All BBQ teams meeting and meat inspection with KCBS representatives Linda and Jerry Mullane
• 4:30 pm: ILBJWC teams meets with ILBJWC chairman Rickie Canny and KCBS representatives Linda and Jerry Mullane
• 4:00 pm - 5:45 pm Vulcan GMS Fabulous Taste-O-Rama, each team will be able to sell 10 sampler plates that will include 4 oz NY strip, 4 oz chicken, sausage and potato based dish. Cost of the plate $16. Public will decide who is the winner by filling up scoring card.
