Canton, NY
Canton NY is a town that lies in the shadows of the Adirondacks in northwestern NY. It's a sleepy college town that is known for getting your heart rate pumping. With miles and miles of trails, the people of Canton schedule bike and foot races on a regular basis throughout the year. And with the Grasse River nearby, canoeing is a favorite pastime after the winter thaw.
Being a town with many businesses built around college students and the college experience, Canton NY offers plenty of treats for those on a budget (and even for those just looking to enjoy themselves). There are a number of great local restaurants, including delis, pizza places, and diners. For the golfer there are a few golf courses that can be played for a reasonable price, and for evening entertainment nothing beats a softball game under the lights (during the warmer months, of course).
