Each year, the Cornell Ornithology Lab receives hundreds of bird questions – and now you can download an app that answers them all!
From the avid birdwatcher to the “just curious”, anyone can appreciate and learn from the 100+ answers included in the new Cornell Lab app.
The questions (and replies) range from common to odd. Though the app is not a field guide, it includes hundreds of photographs and calls from the largest collection of bird sounds in the world – the Cornell Lab’s Macaulay Library archive.
After you’ve brushed up on your feathery friend knowledge, you can quiz yourself with built-in “novice”, “skilled”, and “hotshot” quizzes.
Much of the app’s info comes from Laura Erickson, bird expert and author of The Bird Watching Answer Book. A portion of proceeds from app sales (which cost $2.99) will go into bird conservation programs at Cornell Lab of Ornithology.
Are you a birdwatcher? What kind of questions (and answers) do you have about birds? Is this an app you would download? Tell us your thoughts!
