When you think of politicians going on holidays, you picture them flying far away, to somewhere sunny and lined with beaches.
But the governor of New York finds that his own state has all the beauty, peace and quiet that he needs.
Governor Andrew Cuomo was sighted first in March, then in April, and is planning to go again to Saranac Lake very soon.
The getaway is part of a broken-up two-week vacation, the governor’s first since taking office.
It’s been interrupted by the earthquake, the hurricane, and his desire to be at the New York State Fair in Syracuse, but Cuomo still intends on spending his downtime in the small picturesque town of Saranac Lake.
“You can have the best vacation of your life right here in the State of New York,” insists the governor, and he’s right.
He’s been visiting the Adirondacks since first going as a teenager with his younger brother Chris.
The governor’s vacations in this lesser-known tourist attraction serve to remind us all how lucky we are to live in such a beautiful state, where you don’t ever have to leave to take a vacation!
