Fort Ticonderoga is going to partner with America’s National Railroad Passenger Corporation (Amtrak) for the first time. People between Montreal and New York City will now have the chance to visit one of America’s oldest and most significant historic sites, Fort Ticonderoga
Amtrak will be giving one free companion rail fare with the purchase of one regular adult rail fare on the state supported Adirondack line to and from Fort Ticonderoga, beginning April 1, 2012 through October 31, 2012.
Fort Ticonderoga offers beautiful views from New York’s Adirondack Mountains to Vermont’s Green Mountains. It will also give people a chance to learn more about America’s history with tours, exhibits, and programs that will be offered throughout the season. This will create more traffic in the town of Ticonderoga and help business owners in the area.
Be ready to take a step back to 1775 and see what it was like during the French and Indian War.
