An Adirondack Woof Stock comes to Chestertown NY for the first time ever June 20 – 21. This “Weekend of Peace, Paws, and Music” is expected to draw thousands of dogs and their humans to come celebrate the iconic music and culture of the 60’s and man’s best friend with family-friendly, dog-friendly entertainment.

According to a recent article in The Post Star, the event has been growing faster than expected as different groups and vendors sign on from all over the East Coast to participate in this groovy event. The Tri-Lakes Business Alliance, who is organizing the event, is shocked at how large it’s becoming.
It’s not the first of its kind, and other Woof Stock festivals throughout the nation draw tens of thousands annually, so we can expect this to be a “big woof” in the Adirondacks as well.
The first-ever Adirondack Woof Stock will feature dog demonstrations and activities, music, vendors and much more. Some highlights include:
- Live Music – continuous 60’s musical performances
- Doggie Fun Zone – agility and lure chasing courses
- Dock Jumping – watch the pros and let your dog give it a try
- Disc Catching – watch the pros and let your dog give it a try
- Police Canine Demonstrations

- Woof Stock Live Performance – at the Carol Theatre Saturday night

Your doggie got skills? Don’t miss the My Dog Has Talent Show, featuring categories for obedience, vocals, tricks and even dog-owner look-alikes!
Don’t have a dog? Come anyway! Dog lovers young and old will enjoy watching all the demonstrations and shows, and who knows, you might just end up going home a dog owner after all. There will be animal rescue and pet adoption organizations there, giving you the opportunity to adopt a pet.
And don’t forget to dig out those bell bottoms from the attic because tie-dye and 60’s themed apparel is encouraged for both dogs and humans. Don’t own any tie dye or 60’s apparel? There will be plenty for sale at the event!
