Last summer, the Department of Environmental Conservation closed a worn out bridge on the Perkins Clearing Easement Tract to motor vehicle traffic, but a replacement project was recently completed, and the bridge is once again open!
The new bridge, which traverses the Jessup River and is part of the Jessup River Road, “allows hikers, hunters, anglers, and other recreationalists to more easily access the Northville Placid Trail, Spruce Lake, and the lands and waters of the West Canada Lakes Wilderness,” the DEC said in a statement.
Since the bridge has been restored, the Jessup River Road is now open to motor vehicle traffic all the way to the Spruce Lake Trailhead.
