Winter Solstice Celebration at the VIC

Short events are happening at Paul Smith’s College in Paul Smiths in honor of the Winter Solstice. Get ready for a short hike, a short winter-themed film, and a dessert of shortcake. The cost is $10 for adults and $5 for kids under 18.

The first of Westport Heritage’s House’s Music & More performances is this Friday. Taylor Haskins of Soundwaves will be playing tunes in honor of the Winter Solstice.
Winter Naturalist Walk at the VIC

Head to Paul Smith’s College on Saturday for a guided hike on VIC trails with a trained naturalist. They’ll be discussing how animals and plants adapt to a cold environment. The cost is $10 for adults and $5 for kids.
Learn to Ski With David Welch at the VIC

Learn to cross-country ski or hone your skills at Paul Smith’s College. The cost is $10 for adults and $5 for kids.
Public Skating at the Saranac Lake Civic Center

Public skating lessons are taking place each weekend at the Saranac Lake Civic Center.
Adirondack Horse Drawn Sleigh Rides
Friday, December 21 and Saturday, December 22
Embark on a horse drawn sleigh ride at Paul Smith’s College. The cost is $15 for adults and $10 for kids. Rides last half an hour and the sleigh sits up to six participants. This is happening on Friday and Saturday, at 10am both days.
