States, counties, local businesses, and organizations are doing their part to help stop the spread of novel coronavirus (COVID-19), and here in the Adirondacks, the Adirondack Mountain Club (ADK) is taking action. Starting March 16 through April 30, ADK will temporarily close all of their lodging facilities and the High Peaks Information Center to protect the health and safety of their guests, visitors, and staff.
Which Facilities Are Closing?
Although ADK doesn’t have a confirmed case of COVID-19 at any of their facilities, they believe preemptive action can help to minimize the risk of it spreading. As a result, the following lodging properties and sites are now temporarily closed:
Heart Lake Program Center (Lake Placid), including:
- Adirondack Loj
- Wilderness Campground at Heart Lake
- Heart Lake Cabins
- High Peaks Information Center
Johns Brook Property (Keene Valley), including:
- Johns Brook Lodge
- Grace Camp and Camp Peggy O’Brien
- Johns Brook Lean-Tos
During this time, staff will be available by phone and email, and the front office will continue to take summer reservations for the lodging properties.
