The Fantastic & Flawless 2021 Winter Carnival Poster
Beloved Doonesbury cartoonist Garry Trudeau has outdone himself yet again with this year’s poster. It shows various masked Doonesbury characters, highlighting the Winter Carnival’s 2021 theme of “Mask-erade.” And, each mask depicts a different element of the Adirondacks, such as wildlife or snowsports.
He captured the craziness of 2020 and 2021, the Winter Carnival’s 2021 theme, characters his fans know and love, and payed homage to the Adirondacks. Could it get any better?
How to Purchase the Poster in Person – Or Order
Posters are for sale at Ampersound, at 52 Main Street, and payment is by cash only. They’re $17 including tax, and you can also check out some prior year posters that will be available for sale at $10 each. (Note, 2012 posters are sold out.)

Get Details on Special, Signed Posters & A Raffle
In addition, Trudeau signed 100 posters, each of which cost $75 including tax. If you’ve purchased signed posters in the past you should contact Dickson, info above, to continue their numbered series. There will be a cost for shipping if local pick-up is not possible. Any unclaimed numbered posters will be made available to the public on a first come, first serve basis. You can contact Dickson to be placed on the waiting list.
Finally, a raffle will be held for signed poster #1. Sales are limited to 100 raffle tickets at a cost of $5 each. Dickson is also handling the raffle tickets, and you can contact him from now until the end of the Winter Carnival on February 14; the winning ticket will be drawn and winner notified on this day.
