St. Mary’s School, an educational institution in Ticonderoga, experienced a devastating fire on September 5, 2014. After a year of hard work and community support, the school has been completely rebuilt, and the Ticonderoga Area Chamber of Commerce will be honoring the occasion with a Grand Opening, Ribbon Cutting, and Community Open House on Thursday, October 29!
In addition to the actual building at 64 Amherst Avenue being renovated, all of the classrooms at St. Mary’s School are completely new and updated, and feature the latest technology. The school’s entranceway has been adorned with a sign that states “We survived because the fire inside us burned brighter than the fire around us.”
“We are truly blessed here at St. Mary’s. The community both near and far came to our support in a time of great trial,” stated Father Kevin D. McEwan of St. Mary’s Church in a statement. “With your combined support of both physical and financial, we have come through our crisis and are the better for it.”
The ribbon cutting will take place at 1:00PM on the 29th with tours of the new school and refreshments until 2:30PM. For more information, contact St. Mary’s School at 518-585-6619.
