On Friday, March 17th, everyone is Irish! Aside from maple sugaring season, St. Patrick’s Day is one of the most exciting March events in the entire Adirondack Park. In addition to tons of Irish-themed entertainment throughout the weekend, you’ll find many ways to enjoy the recent winter weather in the Adirondacks too: March 17-19.

St. Paddy’s Day Celebrations, Specials & More
Think you have what it takes to beat the leprechauns at Gore Mountain’s Irish Spirit Race on March 17? Participants can race a leprechaun and earn raffle entries by scoring a faster time. Registration is $5, and a lift ticket is required.
Head over to Saranac Lake this Friday at 4:00pm for the St. Patrick’s Day Parade down Main Street! Everyone is invited to this festive St Paddy’s Day event.
This Friday, the St. Patrick’s Day Parade in Old Forge will begin at 5:00pm on Main Street. Creativity is always the main theme of the parade, and there will be amazing costumes, floats, and more to check out.
Enjoy Irish food? Make your reservations for a St. Patrick’s Day dinner at Garnet Hill Lodge in North River. Seating will take place from 4:00pm-9:00pm, and there will be food, drink, and dessert specials.
Will you be in Indian Lake this Saturday? Sign up for their fun Irish Road Bowling event going on this Saturday at noon. Registration is just $20 per team (4 members).
Check out the Adirondack Winery in Lake George for special wine tastings all weekend long! Try the Shamrock Sangria, test your luck in the cork contest, and enjoy weekend upgrades. There is a fee for wine tasting.
You won’t want to miss Lake George’s popular St. Patrick’s Day celebration known as Sham ‘Rock’ the Block going on this weekend! This celebration will feature games, Irish entertainment, food, and much more.
Find Fun Winter Weather Activities
After being postponed, the Lake Placid Nordic Festival is scheduled to take place this Friday and Saturday at Mt. Van Hoevenberg! Registration will start on Friday morning, and then Saturday will feature a variety of exciting races.
To raise money for their efforts in the Adirondacks and Catskills, the ADK High Peaks Foundation will host their annual Winter Gathering fundraiser this weekend. A $100 donation is suggested, and the event aims to get hikers on each of the high peaks this Saturday. The gathering will take place at the ADK Trail Inn, where hikers can stay overnight.
The annual Pond Skimming event is set to take place at Oak Mountain this Saturday at 1:00pm. Participants will ride down the bunny hill and try to make it across a small pond of water at the bottom.
It’s the first official NYS Maple Weekend of 2017! During this weekend, many farms in the Adirondacks and beyond will open their doors to visitors so they can learn about the maple sugaring process and enjoy some treats.
The final Winter Weekend at Camp Santanoni for 2017 has arrived. Cross-country skiers and snowshoers can visit the historic camp and go on the 5-mile trip, tour the Main Lodge, and eat some refreshments. A Winter Animal Tracking Program will also be offered for kids and families.
