Celebrate The Fall Season
Get ready to dust off your lederhosen and prepare for Whiteface Mountain’s 26th Annual Oktoberfest this weekend. Highlights for this year’s event include drinking games and entertainment, the High Peaks Little Circus, an Adventure Zone for kids, German food and drinks, scenic gondola rides up the mountain, and a grand fireworks show.
What better way to celebrate the fall season than with a festival! Bring the family over to Flanders Park in Tupper Lake for OkTupperfest this Saturday from 11:00am-6:00pm. Some of the planned activities and events include live music, games for kids, scenic helicopter rides, and more. The cost to attend is $5 per person or $20 per vehicle.
Head over to the Adirondack Regional Airport in Saranac Lake for the popular Life Flight Pumpkinfest. This fun festival will feature games, arts and crafts, music, food, airplanes, vintage cars, hayrides and pumpkins, and other seasonal fun.
Stop by Hoss’s Country Store in Long Lake for their annual Octo-BEAR-Fest on Saturday from 10:00am-4:00pm. There will be vendors, musicians, food, beverages, and more. Funds raised will help benefit Randy’s Patient Assistance Fund through the C.R. Wood Cancer Center at Glens Falls Hospital.
Ready for some fall fun? Check out Oak Mountain Ski Center’s 2017 Oaktoberfest! From 12:00pm-4:00pm, guests can enjoy tons of free activities and attractions, such as a craft fair, a strolling magic show, pony rides, German food and drinks, and more.

Love the great outdoors? Love the fall foliage even more? Take on the Gore Mountain Leaf Cruncher 5K this Saturday! The family-friendly race will bring runners along Gore’s beautiful cross-country trails and base area, providing great views of the surrounding fall foliage.
The Whallonsburg Grange in Essex will host their 2nd Annual Bike the Barns bicycle tour this Sunday. This one-day bicycling event will feature farm tour stops along the route as a way to highlight the region’s food revolution. All proceeds raised from Bike the Barns will support local farms and the FarmShare fund.

On Sunday afternoon, the acclaimed Adirondack Shakespeare Company will perform “Hamlet” live at The Pendragon Theatre in Saranac Lake. Tickets to this performance of Shakespeare’s masterpiece will be $20 for adults, $17 for seniors and students, and free for kids 12 and under.
