Enjoy short, feature length, and student films at the 4th Annual Lake Champlain International Film Festival in Plattsburgh. The films will be screened inside the Strand Theatre from November 1-5, and admission is a $10 all-access pass, which can be purchased at the box office.
On Friday evening from 5:00pm-7:00pm, NorthWind Fine Arts in Saranac Lake will host an opening reception for “Parallel Abstractions,” an exceptional art exhibition by Carl Rubino. Refreshments will be served at the event, and the exhibition will be on display in the gallery through November 28.
Join BluSeed Studios in Saranac Lake for their 15th Annual Harvest Gathering on Saturday from 6:00pm-10:00pm. The celebration will include live music, dancing, delicious food, a silent auction, a raffle, and more. There will be limited seating for this event.
Take a trip to the Upper Jay Art Center this weekend for a performance of the Tony Award-winning Broadway hit “The Pillowman.” Set in an unknown totalitarian state, this play celebrates the spellbinding power of narrative while exploring the dark corners of the human imagination.
Ever wanted to learn the banjo? If so, then visit Adirondack Folk School in Lake Luzerne for a Beginner Bluegrass Banjo class with local musician Mac Petrequin. During this class, you will learn about the basics of playing 5-string bluegrass banjo, including chord shapes, hand rolls, and more.
Experience A Thrilling Rodeo
Head south of the Adirondacks to Glens Falls for a rodeo! The 27th Annual Adirondack Stampede Charity Rodeo will be held at Cool Insuring Arena on both Friday and Saturday. The Adirondack Stampede typically showcases 200 competitors in seven standard rodeo events.
Shop At These Great Sales
The New York Ski Educational Foundation and the Lake Placid Ski Club are teaming up once again to host the annual Ski Sale at Lake Placid Elementary School. Community members looking to sell equipment can drop it off on Friday. The sale will be open for visitors on Saturday from 9:00am-11:30am.
Shop for handmade items, baked goods, books, and more at the 28th Annual St. Mary’s Craft Fair in Ticonderoga. The fair will be open from 10:00am-4:00pm on Saturday and 9:00am-2:00pm on Sunday.
