Newcomb’s WinterFest in the Heart of the Park – Saturday, January 13
Discover a winter wonderland of fun activities at the annual WinterFest in the Heart of the Park in Newcomb this Saturday. The schedule of events includes snowshoe tours, dog sled rides, ice skating, live music, tubing and sledding, and more.
Long Lake Annual Winter Carnival – Saturday, January 13
On Saturday, the Town of Long Lake will present their annual Winter Carnival at Mt. Sabattis! There will be a snowmobile parade, the crowning of the King and Queen, a cardboard box derby race, snowball golf, and more.
Torchlight Parade & Fireworks Spectacular – Sunday, January 14
Bring the family to Gore Mountain on Sunday evening for the Torchlight Parade & Fireworks Spectacular! Stand on the sundeck at dusk for an amazing fireworks show and torch run in the base area. Head to the Tannery Pub & Restaurant after the celebration for live music and food & drinks.
Beginning this Friday, the Mountaineer and Adirondack Rock and River will host the 22nd Annual Adirondack International Mountaineering Festival in Keene Valley. This annual celebration of ice climbing and mountaineering will feature stories by guest athletes, instructional clinics, demo gear, raffles, and more.

IBSF North America’s Cup Bobsled & Skeleton 2018 – Thursday, January 11 – Sunday, January 14
From Thursday through Sunday, the Olympic Sports Complex in Lake Placid will host the IBSF North America’s Cup Bobsled & Skeleton 2018! Stop by and watch the exciting bobsled and skeleton competitions each day.
Winter Weekend at Northwood School in Lake Placid – Friday, January 12 – Monday, January 15
Northwood School in Lake Placid will host their annual Winter Weekend and Northwood Invitational/Pond Hockey Tournament this coming weekend! The celebration will feature hockey games at multiple venues in the area, including the 1980 Rink and the 1932 Rink.
Snowmobile Rally to Benefit North Country SPCA – Sunday, January 14
Get ready for a Snowmobile Rally at the Essex County Fairgrounds to benefit the North Country SPCA. The event will run from 10:00am-3:00pm on Sunday and includes fun, food, prizes, raffles, and more.

North Country Jazz Project – Saturday, January 13
On Saturday from 7:00pm-9:00pm, the North Country Jazz Project will present a concert at the Tannery Pond Community Center in North Creek. This 18-piece band is passionate about entertaining, inspiring, and educating audiences. Admission is $15 for adults and free for students.
Full Sap Moon Live Musical Performance – Saturday, January 13
Join the Westport Heritage House on Main Street in Westport for a live show by Full Sap Moon, a local bluegrass and Americana band. Enjoy listening to old time songs from 7:00pm-9:00pm. Admission is a suggested donation of $10 per person or $15 per family or couple.
Community Free Day at The Wild Center – Monday, January 15
In honor of Martin Luther King, Jr. Day, The Wild Center in Tupper Lake will offer free admission from 10:00am-5:00pm. Take a walk through the museum and learn about the region’s wildlife and the Adirondacks.
