There’s only about one month of winter left, so get out and celebrate this snowy time of year while you can! Many communities in the Adirondack Park will be hosting some of the most fun events of the season this weekend, including Winterfest in Lake Placid, the Winter Carnival in Lake George, and the all new Snowshoe Fest in Saranac Lake. See what’s happening in our list below, and make your plans for a memorable weekend in the ADK.

Can’t-Miss Winter Carnivals & Celebrations
The Team USA Winterfest is a multi-stop festival currently making its way across the country. On Saturday, the festival will be held in Lake Placid at the Olympic Speed Skating Oval and the Olympic Jumping Complex. There will be meet and greets with Team USA athletes, interactive experiences, tons of free giveaways, a live performance by Third Eye Blind, and more.
Snocade, Indian Lake’s annual celebration of winter, continues through this Saturday! Some of the planned events for the weekend include a morning snowshoe hike, live music, a snowshoe softball tournament, live comedy, and more entertainment and activities at multiple local venues.
Get ready for the final weekend of the 2018 Lake George Winter Carnival in Lake George Village! It’s going to be a blast during the carnival’s grand finale, so bring the family and enjoy the chicken wing cook-off, pony rides, outdoor races, fireworks, and other activities and attractions.
Head over Jimbo’s Club on Brant Lake and celebrate winter at the annual Brant Lake Winter Carnival on Saturday afternoon. Event highlights will include human foosball, outhouse races, ice bowling, sledding, bonfires, fireworks, and more.
Looking for a fun-filled winter carnival this weekend? Attend Inlet’s annual Frozen Fire & Lights festival for a book sale, snowmobile races for kids, a wine tasting, bonfire, cardboard sled race, demos, a grand fireworks display, and more.
Fun Outdoor Winter Activities
One year after hosting the 2017 World Snowshoe Championships, Saranac Lake will present the all new Adirondack Snowshoe Fest. This two-day event will feature guided tours, races, fun community events, and more at the Dewey Mountain Recreation Center and Paul Smith’s College VIC.
Lapland Lake Nordic Vacation Center in Northville will host a guided moonlit snowshoe tour on Saturday evening! The tour will bring snowshoers through the beautiful property to a lakeside campfire where they can enjoy a snack and hot beverage. The cost to participate is $34 (plus $5 if renting equipment from the site).
If there’s one winter golf game you won’t want to miss, it’s the Fire & Ice Golf Tournament in Tupper Lake. The five-hole course will be played from 12:00pm-4:00pm at the Tupper Lake Golf Club. Registration is $60 for a three-person team.
This Sunday, Garnet Hill Ski Center in North River will host their exciting Fat Bike Day! A wide range of events will be going on throughout the day, such as fat bike tours, live music, races, lunch, and more.
Swing over to Lake Placid’s Cascade XC Ski Center on Sunday from 11:00am-3:00pm for the annual Wooden Ski Rendezvous. This unique event will feature a pine tar clinic, a 5k wooden ski classic, awards, and live music to close out the day.
