The always epic Saranac Lake Winter Carnival starts this weekend! The theme this year is Myths & Legends and there’s an exciting lineup of events, including a new Icicle Contest that happens this Saturday.
Thursday, January 30 to Sunday, February 2
The 2020 Empire State Winter Games takes place at various venues throughout Lake Placid and comprises over 30 winter sports events.

Lake George Winter Carnival: Weekend 1
Saturday, February 1 to Sunday, February 2
The Lake George Winter Carnival also starts this weekend! While the Saranac Lake Winter Carnival runs for 10 days straight, the Lake George carnival is every Saturday and Sunday in February (excepting Leap Day on the 29th).
Adirondack Film Society Screening Series: Parasite
Friday, January 31
Attend a film screening for “Parasite,” at the Lake Placid Center for the Arts. The film has been nominated for six Academy Awards.
Sunday, February 2
The Adirondack Interpretive Center invites you to learn about beavers at this event. This is almost a holiday-themed event, as February 2nd is Groundhog Day, and beavers are a close cousin to groundhogs!
