About this event

Paddlers can start planning for one of the Adirondacks' most iconic events. Registration for the 2026 Adirondack Canoe Classic, better known as the 90-Miler, opens July 1, with the race scheduled for September 11-13, 2026.

Each year, more than 500 competitors take on the historic 90-mile route that winds through lakes, rivers, and carries across the Adirondack Park. The event welcomes canoes, kayaks, guideboats, and other paddlecraft, attracting everyone from elite racers to families and recreational paddlers.

The three-day journey follows waterways once traveled by early settlers and Adirondack guides. Participants begin in Old Forge and paddle through the Fulton Chain Lakes, Long Lake, Upper and Lower Saranac Lakes, and other scenic waterways before crossing the finish line at Lake Flower in Saranac Lake.

Spectators can follow the action throughout the weekend as paddlers navigate one of the most challenging and rewarding races in the Northeast. The event showcases the region's natural beauty while celebrating the Adirondacks' rich paddling heritage.

The 90-Miler remains a bucket-list experience for many outdoor enthusiasts and serves as the opening section of the Northern Forest Canoe Trail, a water route that stretches all the way to Maine. Those interested in participating can find registration details and course information when signups open this summer.
