Learn About the Great Outdoors
This Sunday, Lorraine Duvall will give a lecture titled “Waters of the Adirondacks” at 1:30pm in the Adirondack Museum’s auditorium. She will present a historical narrative about the waters of the Adirondacks and discuss the Boreas Ponds Tract controversy. Admission is $5 for non-members and free for members.
Now that ice fishing has ended, it’s time to plan out a regular fishing trip in the Adirondacks this spring. Learn the basics of fly casting by attending Paul Sinicki’s class at the Adirondack Folk School this Saturday.
Did you know the rapids are best for whitewater rafting in spring? Find a local rafting company and plan out your next spring adventure down the river.
This Saturday, Spring Fest at Whiteface Mountain will feature their annual pond skimming contest. Registration for the competition will run from 8:00am-11:00am, so wear your best costume and get ready to have fun.
Early Easter Excitement for the Kids
The Moriah Chamber of Commerce will host a massive Easter egg hunt this Saturday at the Town Park in Port Henry. There will be thousands of eggs to find, as well as special golden eggs that you can turn in for prizes.
The annual Easter Egg Hunt at Minerva Central will be hosted by It’s About Thyme Farm this Saturday at noon. All ages are welcome to attend this fun Easter egg hunt.
Take the kids over to the Ticonderoga Elks Lodge #1494 for a special Breakfast with the Easter Bunny this Sunday at 8:00am.
Appreciate the Arts
NorthWind Fine Arts Gallery in Saranac Lake will celebrate National Poetry Month by exhibiting the works of local poets and artists at their opening reception on Friday. This free reception will run from 5:00pm-7:00pm.
The Lake Pleasant Central School Drama Club will host a kid-friendly performance of “The Jungle Book” on both Friday and Sunday. Admission is a $5 donation, and kids 5 and under get in for free.
