This weekend is “ripe” with fun events, including the Annual Garlic Festival at the Warrensburgh Riverfront Farmers Market, the Flaming Leaves Festival in Lake Placid, farm tours, and a few fall festivals.
October 7-9
This three-day festival is centered around the FIS Continental Cup, a massive ski jump event. In addition to the ski jumping, there will be live music and dancing, crafts, food and beer vendors, and activities for the whole family.
Annual Garlic Festival at the Warrensburgh Riverfront Farmers Market
October 7
Celebrate the (arguably) best addition to any dish: garlic! Along with live music, mostly garlic-centered food, local artisans, and more, this festival will include tons of varieties of certified organic and naturally grown garlic sold for planting and consumption.
October 8
On Saturday, cheer on the runners at the annual Lake Placid Classic half marathon and 10k. This event is an awesome fundraiser for the CYC of Lake Placid and Wilmington, a local not-for-profit youth development organization.
October 8
This self-guided farm tour through Thurman is a great event for the whole family. With offerings and samples at nearly every place you stop, an artisan market, kids’ activities, wagon rides, and more, it’s sure to be a fun-filled fall day!
Penfield Homestead Museum’s Applefolkfest
October 9
Enjoy chili, hot dogs, apple desserts, live music, and a craft fair at Applefolkfest. The museum will also be offering free tours, so don’t miss out!
