What's New In the Adirondacks

June 2012 Archives

For the past 6 weeks the Double H Ranch received a considerable level of support from a handful of generous Facebook fans and donors! The "Choose Your Path" online challenge helped support the programs that bring health and happiness to children battling life-threatening medical conditions. Here's a recap of the events, and some insight as to how those donations positively impact their campers!
Business is booming in North Creek! Be there to celebrate this Saturday, July 30 at the official Grand Opening, celebrating over a dozen new businesses and the expansion of several others in the Gore Mountain Region.

At 1pm a red ribbon stretched across Main Street will be cut symbolizing the official opening of local businesses, followed by a series of events, with refreshments, live music, sidewalk sales, and other specials.
Summer tourists have poured into the Adirondacks for over a century of summer vacations. Many are allured by the fact that the Adirondacks seem unchanged with time: the same gracious pines, surround the same beautiful lakes, tucked in the same Adirondack mountains...
Tropical storms don't often affect the Adirondacks. But, last summer rains from Tropical Storm Irene devastated a number of upstate areas, including the bridge over Marcy Dam. This bridge was part of one of the most popular hiking trails in the Adirondacks, and we are happy to announce that a new bridge has been constructed.

Adirondack Lakes are known around the world for their beauty, unmarred from any outside influence. However, visitors to the Adirondacks may be facing an uncomfortable reality if these previously untouched lakes become infested with invasive species
