Good new fishermen (and fisherwomen)! Governor Cuomo recently sign on to extend the state’s freshwater fishing regulation of allowing three rods per licensed fisher through 2017.
The regulation allows each fisher to use three rods at a time. Of course this doesn’t guarantee more fish, just increases the chances!
The regulation is not expected to damage fisheries, as fishers need to abide by daily catch limits.
Reminder: children under the age of 16 do not require a license, almost everybody else does (some exceptions).
