Wow, winter really doesn’t want to give up does it? While that’s good news for area ski mountains like Gore Mountain, some of us are ready for spring after what we thought was a late blizzard two weeks ago. And it looks like we have another winter storm passing through the region as we head into the weekend.

There is a winter storm warning in effect for the Adirondacks from 5am Friday, until 2pm Saturday. The storm will dump 6 to 12 inches of heavy, wet snow, falling at a rate of up to one inch per hour. The heaviest snowfall should be Friday night.
Heavy, wet snow this time of year can be damaging, as it accumulates on trees and powerlines, leading to power outages across the affected areas.
Stay in on Friday night, and get ready to shovel some wet snow on Saturday morning. You might want to shovel frequently because the snow will be so heavy, or enlist the kids to help out so you don’t overwork yourself (they’ll have all day!).
Will you be checking out an area ski mountain this weekend to get some late season runs in? Who doesn’t love spring skiing?
