The Whiteface Lodge in Lake Placid, New York has been named one of America’s best mountain resorts by Travel+Leisure magazine. The 94-room lodge had previously been named among the best ski hotels in Canada and the U.S, and among the 500 best hotels throughout the world.
The Whiteface Lodge took top honors in the local categories: best in Lake Placid, the Northeast, and New York. The lodge came in at number six across the entire U.S. and close neighbor, Mirror Lake Inn Resort & Spa, took ninth place on the national level.
What makes Whiteface Lodge one of the best in Adirondack lodging? It’s an all-suite lodge outfitted with rustic furniture, white-pine beams, and cast-iron fireplaces sitting right in the middle of the six-million-acre Adirondack Park. Rooms have full kitchens, and guests can look out over Whiteface Mountain on one side, or McKenzie Range on the other from their own private patio.
