The First Annual Adirondack Challenge, taking place July 21, 2013, will be a celebration of the food, fun, and fresh air that the Adirondack’s are famous for!
The Adirondack Challenge is
a celebration of New York’s beautiful Adirondack Mountains, and the inaugural festivities
will take place in Indian Lake, New York. Governor Andrew Cuomo recently announced
that the Hamilton County town of Indian Lake would play host to a day of water
races, food music and fun. The idea for the event started when the governor took
a whitewater-rafting trip with some friends, and he decided that it would be an
excellent way to highlight some of the Adirondack’s many offerings! It is sponsored by I Love New York.
Challenge will be an exciting daylong festival with food, music and two competitive
boat races. The two races will be:
- an invitational whitewater event, and,
- international flat-water paddling competition.
The Adirondack Challenge boat
races will take place July 21, 2013 in Indian Lake. Indian Lake is an ideal spot for a flat-water race, because it is 14 miles long and 1 mile wide.
Challenge will highlight some of the many attractions that the Adirondack Park has to offer.
