Four of our events span multiple days this weekend, so you can have a choice of which day to go!
Adirondack SUP Festival – Friday, June 19 – Sunday, June 21
This fun festival features Long and Short Course WPA sanctioned races, family fun races, on-water and dry-land clinics, SUP fitness and yoga classes, demos, a guided tour group, and a SUP shop offering special sale prices on all the equipment you need!
Lake Placid Blues and Heritage Festival – Friday, June 19 – Sunday, June 21
3 days + 9 venues + 21 blues bands = 1 amazing weekend! This festival features local and regional bands, and is a celebration of exceptional music. There will also be shopping and fun for the whole family!
Father’s Day Weekend Car Show – Friday, June 19 – Saturday, June 20
This annual car show features a parade on Friday evening at 7:00pm, and continues with a judged show on Saturday. There will be cash prizes for winners in certain categories!
An Adirondack Woof Stock – Saturday, June 20 – Sunday, June 21
This fun weekend of peace, paws, and music is perfect for anyone with a four-legged friend or anyone looking to adopt one! There will be various competitions, a doggie fun zone, food, music, vendors, and more!
Live Entertainment
Whether you like listening to music or watching other types of performing arts, there’s lots of entertainment this weekend, and some even helps good causes!
Amy Gallatin and Stillwaters – Friday, June 19
The powerhouse duo of Amy Gallatin and renowned resophonic guitarist Roger Williams perform a large repertory of country standards served up in a bluegrass and acoustic vein. Watch their set at The View in Old Forge!
Backwoods Brawl – Saturday, June 20
Although the name sounds intense, this brawl is actually a drama and comedy show that pushes the limits of creativity! The brawl will take place at Yogi Bear’s Jellystone Park @ Paradise Pines, and proceeds will benefit Upstate NY Autism Awareness.
Rockin’ Out for the Y – Sunday, June 21
This event at the Naked Turtle in Plattsburgh is a family-friendly fundraiser for the Plattsburgh YMCA. It includes live music by Dango and the Glengarry Bhoys, family Zumba with a certified instructor, and more!
Craft Workshops
Spend some time this weekend learning a new skill. You never know when you’ll discover a hobby you love!
Shibori Dyeing with Indigo – Saturday, June 20
In this class you’ll learn the process of indigo dyeing, from making the indigo stock solution to managing the indigo vat, then proceeding to the process of dyeing. You’ll leave the class with samples of your work and an original silk scarf!
Hand Papermaking – Saturday, June 20
Learn to make sheets of gorgeous cotton rag paper that can be used in individual sheets or to make a journal! This workshop will include discussions, demonstrations, and hands-on work to help you gain a basic understanding of the papermaking process.
Glass Beads: Introduction to Lampworking – Sunday, June 21
Become acquainted with the equipment, tools, materials, and techniques used to safely melt and form glass into glass beads. You’ll leave the class with a collection your own beautiful beads and may be inspired to take additional workshops!
