Long Lake Winter Carnival
1. 37th Annual Northwood Invitational & Alumni Pond Hockey Tournament
Friday, January 15 – Sunday, January 17
This annual hockey tournament has a storied history and has included players and coaches that went on to make it big in the National Hockey League. Spectators can enjoy three days jam-packed with games on four different rinks!
Friday, January 15 – Monday, January 18
Mountainfest is an annual celebration of ice climbing and mountaineering featuring guest athletes who entertain participants with tales of climbing adventures, instructional clinics taught by visiting climbers and local guides, and demo gear. Registration is limited!
Saturday, January 16
The 15th Annual Long Lake Winter Carnival will feature a snowmobile parade, town-wide photograph, Cardboard Box Derby Race, Snowball Golf, the ever famous Ladies Frying Pan Toss competition, and much more. The night will be concluded with a fireworks display!
Saturday, January 16 – Monday, January 18
During this special Winter Weekend, cross-country skiers and snowshoers will have access to the historic Camp Santanoni properties to rest and view interactive displays. Also, the nearby Adirondack Interpretive Center’s buildings will be open from 10:00am to 4:00pm.
Sunday, January 17
The Cock-A-Doodle-Shoe 10K, Nicolas Pendl 5K, and 1/2M Kids Snowshoe Scramble will all be taking place on Sunday at the New Land Trust in Saranac. Race day registration is available for $20 from 8:00am – 9:45am.
