Do you have a stockpile of old items in your home, garage, or storage shed? Is a much-needed dump run in your future? If so, you may want to wait a few more months! Two of the country’s favorite treasure hunters will return to the region this summer, and they may find some gems you didn’t know you had.
History Channel’s “American Pickers” is a show that follows Mike Wolfe and Frank Fritz as they travel across the nation in search of antiques and collectibles. The duo is interested in large collections – particularly those involving movie memorabilia, vintage music equipment, and automotive items – and tend to find their best treasures outside of antique stores.
The show has a history of success in the area, so it’s not a surprise upstate New York is on their list of places to visit during their latest hunt. A few years ago, the show featured an episode on their discovery of an old farm with 14 trailers full of collectibles!
However, “American Pickers” is about more than finding the rarest treasures. The show highlights the history of the various collections, including both their origin and how they ended up with their current owners. According to the Sun Community News, the show wants “interesting local characters as well as artifacts” for filming that’s scheduled for this summer.
Do you or someone you know own any old collections you think would interest “American Pickers?” If so, then contact the show’s producers , or call (855 653-7878), and provide them with your contact information and a description of what the collection consists of.
Stay tuned, and maybe you’ll recognize someone once the season films and airs!
