We’ve seen Shaquille O’Neal dominate the basketball court, but can he tame the Adirondack wilderness? Tune in to NBC’s “Running Wild with Bear Grylls” this coming Monday and find out if Shaq has the skills to survive the Adirondacks!
Shaq is the celebrity guest for Season 3, Episode 4 of survival reality television series “Running Wild with Bear Grylls.” The series debuted in 2014, and each episode stars popular survivalist Bear Grylls and a celebrity guest. Some of the most notable include Ben Stiller, Nick Jonas, and even President Barack Obama.
According to NBC, for each season of the show, “Grylls takes seven entertainment and sports stars into the most remote and pristine locations in the U.S. and around the world for the 48-hour journey of a lifetime.”
The concept of the show is similar to Bear Grylls’ past show, “Man vs Wild,” in which he showcased survival techniques in different scenarios and locations. However, while Bear has climbed Mount Everest and adventured all over the world, “Running Wild’s” celebrity guests are considerably less experienced.
For Shaq’s episode of “Running Wild,” he and Bear will attempt to survive the dense forests and mountains of the Adirondack Park. Filming reportedly took place near Lake Champlain and Willsboro, as well as other locations. A preview clip shows Shaq and Bear jumping from a helicopter into the water, and Shaq rappelling down a cliff.
Do you think the 7’1″ tall NBA legend has what it takes to survive the Adirondacks? Check out the episode on NBC on Monday, August 29, at 10:00PM!
