Halloween is fast approaching, so hopefully you’ve already picked out your costume for this year! If you’re looking for ways to celebrate this spooky holiday in the Adirondacks, there are plenty of parades and entertainment for kids, teens, and adults happening from Friday, October 28 through Monday, October 31 (Halloween).

Halloween Parades
HalloweenFest 2016 – Friday, October 28 – Monday, October 31
Are you ready for HalloweenFest in Ticonderoga? This four-day Halloween celebration will feature a ton of fun events for kids, teens, and adults. Highlights will include the Penfield Haunted Homestead in Crown Point on Friday, horse-drawn wagon rides on Saturday, and a costume parade on Monday!
Halloween Parade and Party in Inlet – Friday, October 28
A costume parade will be held in downtown Inlet on Friday at 6:30PM. The parade will travel through downtown and then end at the Inlet Fire Hall for judging and treats.
Lake Placid Elementary School Halloween Parade – Monday, October 31
The Lake Placid Elementary School Halloween Parade will take place along Main Street starting at noon. Everyone in the parade will be dressed in Halloween costumes.
Warrensburg Annual Halloween Parade – Monday, October 31
The annual Warrensburg Halloween Parade will take place from 4:00PM-5:00PM along Main Street. The parade will begin at the Hudson Headwaters Parking Lot.
Halloween Fun For The Kids
Halloween Costume Party & Contest In Old Forge – Friday, October 28
From 2:30PM-4:30PM at the Old Forge Library, there will be a costume party and contest! Come and enjoy the treats, crafts, and fun Halloween entertainment.
Trick-or-Treat on Safety Street – Friday, October 28
During Trick-or-Treat on Safety Street in Plattsburgh, the Crete Civic Center will be transformed into a safe, family-friendly environment for kids to come and trick-or-treat in a controlled atmosphere. Trick-or-treating will begin at 6:00PM.
Nettle Meadow Family-Friendly Haunted Farm Tour – Friday, October 28 & Saturday, October 29
Stop by Nettle Meadow Farm in Warrensburg for a family-friendly Haunted Farm Tour on Friday and Saturday. Events will take place from 7:00PM-9:30PM on both nights, and there will be fun for all ages!
Nightmare on Main Street – Saturday, October 29 & Sunday, October 30
Kids and adults are sure to find plenty of Halloween entertainment at North Creek’s all new Nightmare on Main Street Halloween Celebration. The festivities will start with a Children’s Halloween Party at 11:00AM, and then events for kids and adults will continue through just past midnight.
Park Street Trick or Treat – Monday, October 31
From 3:00PM-5:00PM, children & families can trick-or-treat at various businesses along Park Street and places with a “participating business” poster hung up on their window. Parts of Park Street will be closed during this free trick-or-treating event.
Halloween in Raquette Lake – Monday, October 31
Starting at 4:00PM, enjoy Halloween entertainment and trick-or-treating throughout Raquette Lake! To participate in the scarecrow contest, you must have it on the school fence by 4:00PM.
Are You Brave Enough?
Haunted Woods – Friday, October 28 & Saturday, October 29
Visit the Tri-Lakes Humane Society in Saranac Lake for a terrifying trail walk after dark! For $5 per person, you can encounter monsters and spirits that lurk in the Haunted Woods. Due to the high scare level of this trail walk, it is not recommended for children under 10 years of age.
Haunted VIC Night – Sunday, October 30
At Paul Smith’s College VIC, families can come and enjoy a Haunted VIC Night. Starting at 6:30PM, there will be family-friendly activities indoors, and outdoors, the Haunted Walk is recommended for ages 16 and up.
Haunted Halloween Trail – Monday, October 31
From 5:00PM-8:00PM, brave members of the public are welcome to take a walk along the Haunted Halloween Trail in Tupper Lake. The trail begins at the Tupper Lake Memorial Civic Center, and local students will offer candy along the path. Trick-or-treaters younger than 12 are asked to be accompanied by an adult.
