Exciting Winter Competitions
Nordic Fest at North Creek Ski Bowl – Friday, December 16 – Sunday, December 18
Get ready for three days of cross-country skiing and cross-country ski races at the North Creek Ski Bowl in North Creek! Nordic Fest is a fun way for racers and all cross-country skiers to visit the North Creek Ski Bowl and enjoy the snow.
IBSF Bobsled & Skeleton Competition – Friday, December 16 & Saturday, December 17
Stop by the Mt. Van Hoevenberg Olympic Sports Complex in Lake Placid for the IBSF Bobsled & Skeleton Competition! The world’s best sliders will compete on both days, and admission will be $16 for adults and $10 for juniors/seniors.
Gore Mountain Snowshoe Race – Saturday, December 17
As part of Nordic Fest, there will be a Gore Mountain Snowshoe Race at the Ski Bowl this Saturday at 2:00pm. Day-of registration will be available at the Ski Bowl Lodge. The two-lap race costs $20 to register, and the one-lap recreational race costs $12. Registration includes a trail pass.
Local Holiday Entertainment
Festival of Trees at the Hancock House – Wednesday, December 14 – Saturday, December 17
The Hancock House in Ticonderoga is currently hosting Festival of Trees! Over 30 trees, centerpieces, and holiday decorations are on display for visitors to explore. The museum is open Wednesday-Saturday (excluding holidays) from 10:00am-4:00pm. The Festival of Trees exhibit will be featured through December 31.
A Christmas Carol at Pendragon Theatre – Friday, December 16 – Sunday, December 18
Bring the family to the Pendragon Theatre in Saranac Lake this weekend for a performance of a beloved Christmas classic – A Christmas Carol! On Friday and Saturday, show time will be 7:00pm, and on Sunday, show time will be 2:00pm.
Long Lake Holiday Lights Judging – Saturday, December 17 – Thursday, December 22
Visit Long Lake for the local Holiday Lights Tour and Contest! Starting this Saturday, visitors will be able to drive around, check out the decorated homes and businesses, and vote on their favorites. Maps will be available at the Town Hall.
Lantern-Lit Sleigh Rides – Saturday, December 17
Lake Clear Lodge’s Lantern-Lit Sleigh Rides will begin starting this Saturday from 6:00pm-8:00pm. This is a great activity for both families and couples. Reservations are required, and they can be made by calling 518-891-1489.
