Multi-Day Pond Hockey Tournaments
The Can/Am Lake Placid Adult Pond Hockey Tournament – Thursday, January 26 – Sunday, January 28
If you’re planning to visit Lake Placid this weekend, be sure to check out the Can/Am Adult Pond Hockey Tournament, which will run from Thursday through Sunday. The pond hockey games will take place at Mirror Lake, and if you’re not competing, the tournament will still be fun to watch!
Adirondack Ice Bowl – Thursday, January 26 – Saturday, January 28
The 9th annual Adirondack Ice Bowl is happening on Fourth Lake in Inlet from Thursday through Saturday! Watch the popular event near The Woods Inn and enjoy live music from some of the hottest regional bands, food, an ice bar, and more!

AMEC Ice Car Races – Saturday, January 28 & Sunday, January 29
Head over to Raquette Pond/Tupper Lake Municipal Park in Tupper Lake for the spectacular AMEC Ice Car Races! Competitors in different classes of cars will race on a frozen Raquette Pond over the course of two days. The event is free for spectators, and it is weather dependent.
Mike Norris Ice Fishing Derby on Raquette Lake – Saturday, January 28
Are you an ice fisherman? Take on the annual Mike Norris Ice Fishing Derby in Raquette Lake this Saturday! Registration begins at 6:00am at the Raquette Lake Fire Hall. Hot chocolate and snacks will be provided throughout the day, and the winners will receive cash prizes and plaques!
Annual Bob Whitford Ice Fishing Tournament – Saturday, January 28
Over in Brant Lake, the 7th annual Bob Whitford Ice Fishing Tournament is happening this Saturday from 9:00am-3:00pm. Registration is $20 per person, and there will be contests to catch the largest perch, trout, and crappy.
Rail Jam Park Session – Sunday, January 29
Visit Oak Mountain Ski Center in Speculator this Sunday for their Rail Jam Park Session! This event will be open format, and it will include a mixture of six features for all ages. There is a $15 entry fee, and a cash prize will be awarded for the best trick.

Take Your Kids to Gore Week – Today through Friday, January 27
Don’t miss out on the final days of Take Your Kids to Gore Week! All children ages 19 and under get to ski and ride for free at Gore Mountain if accompanied by a full paying parent.
Winter Trails Day – Sunday, January 29
Winter Trails Day at Lapland Lake Nordic Vacation Center features an afternoon of complimentary facility use! Not only that, but visitors ages 5+ will be able to attend beginner cross-country ski lessons. First-timers participating in Winter Trails Day will have to pre-register.

Banff Mountain Film Festival – Sunday, January 29
The Banff Mountain Film and Book Festival is an annual multi-day event in Banff, Alberta that features mountain stories, adventures, and expeditions told by authors, photographers, and filmmakers. As part of the festival’s world tour, some audience favorites will be presented at the Lake Placid Center for the Arts this Sunday!
