Valentine’s Day is next week, but have you made plans for this weekend? Take a trip to the Adirondacks and enjoy some pre-Valentine’s Day carnivals and activities happening all weekend long: February 10-12.

Winter Carnivals in the Adirondacks
The 2017 Saranac Lake Winter Carnival is still underway over in Saranac Lake. Bring the family to the carnival, check out the ice palace, and enjoy a wide range of fun activities.
This year’s Old Forge Winter Carnival at McCauley Mountain kicks off this Friday and will run through Sunday. Some of the top events include an Adirondack parade, a bonfire, fireworks, and more.
It’s time for the second weekend of the Lake George Winter Carnival. Look forward to the BBQ cook-off at the Shepard Park Amphitheater, the hot chocolate bar at the beach, and the fireworks over the lake.
Outdoor Winter Competitions
Get your fishing gear and prepare for the Ice Fishing Derby at Long Lake and Lake Eaton. Registration will take place at the Geiger Skating Arena at Mt. Sabattis, and the fee is $25. Fish for landlocked salmon and trout in Lake Eaton or northern pike in Long Lake.
The 13th annual Lake Pleasant Ice Fishing Contest will take place this Saturday. Registration will be available at the Inn at Speculator on Friday and Saturday. The contest will run from 7:00am-3:00pm, and awards will be based on fish length.
Natural Stone Bridge & Caves Park has joined the DION WMAC Snowshoe Series this year, and their 6K race will take place this Saturday. Registration will be $20 on the day of the race.
Pre-Valentine’s Day Fun
Take your significant other on a ski & snowshoe tour at Garnet Hill Lodge. This fun experience will also include a sweet and savory fondue of chocolate and cheese after the tour. The cost is $35 per person.
Celebrate Valentine’s Day with your significant other early at Westport Heritage House’s Valentine’s Dance this Saturday from 7:00pm-9:30pm. Admission is $5 per person, and snacks will be provided.
Parties and Local Entertainment
Get ready for some hometown fun under the full moon at Gore Mountain’s North Creek Ski Bowl. This family-friendly event will feature tons of activities for kids, live music, and $10 lift tickets and cross-country ski passes.
The Cascade Ski Center in Lake Placid will host their Full Moon Party this Saturday at 7:00pm. In addition to food, drink, and live music, there will also be moonlight skiing and snowshoeing. Admission is $15 for the full party or $5 for the band.
The Oxbow Inn in Speculator will host a Feb Fest Party and the annual Pleasant Riders Tree Burning on Saturday and Sunday. Enjoy live music, a bonfire, fireworks, a snowmobile raffle, and more events.
