CNYWS Watercolor Series at View
Want to hone in on your watercolor skills? Come to View, the multi-arts center in Old Forge, for fine arts workshops with Central New York Watercolor Society!
Running from mid-August to September, the watercolor workshops will explore various methods of creation. Sketch with pen, ink and paint, or learn how to wash and pour with Asian style watercolors. You’ll receive lessons from amazing artists including Michiko Taylor, Ann Pember, Joanne DeStefano, Jane Grace Taylor, Mary Murphy, Judith Hand and William Elkins!

Ireland’s Happy Man: Cahal Dunne
Composer, pianist, storyteller, comedian, television personality. It’s hard to find anyone who wears as many hats as Cahal Dunne! Returning to View for a side-splitting show on Saturday, August 26 at 7:20 p.m., the distinguished entertainer has previously performed with Bob Hope, Al Martino, Tony Orlando, and even numerous American Presidents.

8th Annual Plein Air Paint Out
From August 31 to September 2, View invites you to participate in the Plein Air Paint Out (PAPO)!
“I wouldn’t miss it,” said returning artist, Drayton Jones in a statement. “The scenery is challenging and beautiful, the town welcoming, and the staff and volunteers do a great job hosting this event. I look forward to painting and socializing with friends each year and I encourage others to join us!”
Paint with top area artists, enjoy activities, and explore Old Forge to get the creative juices flowing. At the end of the three-day event, artists will be asked to donate a framed, ready to hang piece for View’s live bidding auction on Saturday, September 2 at 5:30 p.m. Register by August 25 at viewarts.org
See the storybook-like creations of Gary Price, Sarah Price and Peter Rashford in View’s Member Gallery space. While working in various mediums and from separate backgrounds in cartooning, illustration and mural art, the work featured in this exhibit comes together to create a beautiful fantasy world.
Get inspired and celebrate artists at View’s Adirondacks National Exhibition of American Watercolors! On display until October 8, see beautiful water-based media works selected by esteemed judges Ken Call and Susan Weintraub.
Through October 29, come see Robin Cass & Bill Klingensmith: If Anything Happens… This exhibit showcases collaborative pieces by married artists Bill Klingensmith and Robin Cass. While Klingensmith is known for his graphic design and typographic projects, Cass works with molten glass to explore themes of preservation and wonder.
