Editor’s Note (11/10/2017): Due to inclement weather, the Prospect Mountain Veteran’s Memorial Highway in Lake George will be closed this weekend, November 11-12. As such, we have removed it from our list of free weekend events.
This weekend, we honor those who have served our country. Veteran’s Day is Saturday, November 11th, but activities are going on all weekend long. To honor our veterans, some area attractions and activities are free for everyone. Check out these free things to do:
The Wild Center
From 10am to 5pm on Veteran’s Day, The Wild Center is hosting a Community Free Day with free admission for everyone. See the otters swim, check out a feature film in Flammer Theatre, or try your hand at painting in the Artists Studio. The Waterside Café and Wild Supply Co. will also be open on Saturday.
Fishing
Fishing across New York State is free on Saturday for Veteran’s Day. No fishing license is required. Find the best fishing spots and see what’s in season in our fishing guide.
