If there’s one New Year’s Eve event that you must attend, it’s First Night Saranac Lake. This celebration of the arts and the New Year will feature a wide variety of entertainment all night long, including comedy acts, live music, puppet shows, and more. To attend, all you need to do is purchase a First Night button, available online or at a participating venue in Saranac Lake.
“Not Your New Year’s Eve Party” Party – Friday, December 29
Join Tannery Pond Center in North Creek on Friday for their “Not Your New Year’s Eve Party” Party! This event will feature live music by Henry Ray and Les Kurtz, who will be performing “The Great American Songbook.” Beverages and snacks will be available, and admission is $15 in advance and $20 at the door.
New Year’s Eve Celebration in Ticonderoga – Sunday, December 31
As part of their series of fundraisers, the Best 4th in the North Committee in Ticonderoga will host a New Year’s Eve Celebration at the Best Western Ticonderoga. From 7:00pm-1:00am, attendees can enjoy appetizers, desserts, a complimentary champagne toast at midnight, and DJ music all night long.
Irish New Year’s Party at Big Tupper Brewing – Sunday, December 31

The Feeling Long Lakey Polar Plunge has returned for 2017! Participants and spectators can head to Long Lake Town Beach on Saturday at 1:00pm for this exciting polar plunge. This year, funds will benefit the High Peaks Hospice.
2018 Lake George Polar Plunge – Monday, January 1
One of Lake George’s most popular annual traditions is the New Year’s Day Polar Plunge. For $10 per polar plunger, you can experience the thrills as waves of participants brave the icy waters of Lake George in celebration of the New Year. Funds raised will benefit local fire departments and a children’s hospital.

Visiting Lake Placid during the week of December 26-31? If so, then bring the family over to Mid’s Park on Main Street for the Holiday Fun Zone each evening from 4:00pm-6:00pm. There will be holiday fun, a live DJ, Adirondack treats, and more.
Horse Drawn Sleigh Rides at Lapland Lake – Saturday, December 30
Over in Northville, Lapland Lake Nordic Vacation Center will offer more than just cross-country skiing this Saturday. J&D Percherons Horse Drawn Sleigh Rides will be on-site hosting sleigh rides along a scenic route. Pre-registration is recommended, as rides will only be available from 1:00pm-4:00pm
