Attend a Winter Carnival
2018 Old Forge Winter Carnival – Friday, February 9 – Sunday, February 11
Head over to Old Forge for the annual Winter Carnival at McCauley Mountain this weekend. The three-day long festival will feature an Olympic Parade on Main Street, live music, fireworks, coronation of king and queen, a cardboard sled race, and much more.
2018 Saranac Lake Winter Carnival – Today Through Sunday, February 11
Don’t miss the final days of the 2018 Saranac Lake Winter Carnival! This weekend, there will be a wide array of events and activities happening all around the community, including a snow rugby game, the gala parade, live music, a hockey tournament, fireworks, and more.
Lake George Winter Carnival Weekend 2 – Saturday, February 10 & Sunday, February 11
Take a trip to Lake George Village for the second weekend of the annual Winter Carnival! From sanctioned car races on the ice to a BBQ Cook-Off, there will be plenty of events for the whole family to enjoy.

Long Lake Poker Run – Friday, February 9
On Friday, the Long Lake Moonlighters Snowmobile Club will host a Poker Run from 12:00pm-6:00pm. The event will begin at the Newcomb House, and then participants will travel to various stops throughout the region. Prizes will be awarded at the Adirondack Hotel.
Long Lake/Lake Eaton Ice Fishing Derby – Saturday, February 10
Test your skills at the Long Lake/Lake Eaton Ice Fishing Derby on Saturday from 6:00am-3:00pm. The weigh-in station for the contest will be held at Long Lake Town Beach. Registration is $25pp.
Mini-Shredders Jibfest – Sunday, February 11
Gore MountainĀ in North Creek will host a Mini-Shredders Jibfest on Sunday at 11:00am. This family-oriented freestyle competition is designed for kids, especially for ages 10 and under. Registration runs from 9:00am-10:30am in the Base Lodge.

Lake Placid Olympic Cauldron Lighting – Friday, February 9
In celebration of the Winter Olympics, join the community of Lake Placid on Friday as they relight their Olympic Cauldron. The program will begin at 6:30pm at the Lake Placid Horse Show Grounds.
Chilson Fire Department Valentine’s Dinner Dance – Saturday, February 10
Get ready for the Chilson Volunteer Fire Department’s 40th Annual Valentine’s Dinner Dance on Saturday from 5:30pm-10:00pm. Tickets for this year’s event are just $15pp, and proceeds will benefit the fire department and their volunteers.
Pleasant Riders Annual Tree Burning & Sledding Party – Sunday, February 11
Join the Pleasant Riders Snowmobile Club at their annual Tree Burning & Sledding Party on Sunday at the Oxbow Inn in Lake Pleasant. The schedule of events includes sledding, a bonfire, live music, fireworks, and a snowmobile raffle.
