The Street Art Project is returning to Ticonderoga for its 8th year! Hosted by the Ticonderoga Montcalm Street Partnership and the TMSP Promotions Committee, the theme of the 2018 Street Art Project is “Local Wood Products.” The Street Art Project produces local art displays and beautiful street decorations, and also raises funds for a Montcalm Street project.
Best of all, anyone can participate in the project! Artists can decorate the items for display, sponsors can fund the works of art, and spectators can see the hand-painted wood products in Ticonderoga and support the artists and sponsors.
Looking to take one of the finished pieces home with you? Attend the auction held at Libby’s Bakery Cafe on August 16.
More information is available at timainstreet.org and on the Ticonderoga Montcalm Street Partnership Facebook page.
Become a Sponsor!
Businesses and organizations are invited to sign up as project sponsors. John Bartlett, TMSP Promotions Committee Chairperson, said in a statement, “We hope to have many businesses and organizations sign up to be Street Art Sponsors for the 2018 project. We have a total of 21 local wood products that need sponsors. Join us to support the community and show your community pride through this project.” All products are locally made and have been provided by Essex Industries, a part of Mountain Lake Services.
“On behalf of our team here at Essex Industries, I’d like to thank the Ticonderoga Montcalm Street Partnership for allowing us to be a part of their Street Art Project,” said John Gereau, Director of Operations & Marketing, in a statement. “It was our pleasure constructing the items for this year’s project. Local business partnerships like this are exactly what aid us in our mission of enriching the lives of people with developmental and intellectual disabilities.”
The cost of sponsorship includes:
- $35.00 for Wooden Paddle,
- $70.00 for Kid’s Picnic Table, and
- $70.00 for a Wooden Bench
Products are available on a first come first serve basis. Sign up through the Ticonderoga Area Chamber of Commerce (TMSP Coordinator) at 518-585-6619.
