What better way to celebrate the arrival of warm weather in the Adirondacks than with a hiking challenge? The Moriah Chamber of Commerce has kicked off the second year of the Moriah Hiking Challenge and invites hikers of all ages to earn their commemorative hiking patch!
The Moriah Challenge Returns
The challenge, great for beginners and hiking enthusiasts alike, includes four short hikes: Belfry Mountain, Big Hollow/Coot Hill, Cheney Mountain, and Crowfoot Pond. Hikers who complete the challenge can earn a special reward: a commemorative patch designed by local artist Linda Smyth.
Those of you who want to try the Moriah Challenge for yourselves can get Champlain Area Trails System maps and challenge forms at the Moriah Chamber of Commerce office at 4317 Main Street in Port Henry. When you’ve completed all four hikes and filled out your form, bring it back to the chamber office to receive your patch!
For more information on the Challenge, contact the Chamber at 518-250-1050 or email moriahchamber@gmail.com. See you on the trails!
