Bluegrass at BluSeed
Over the past 13 years, the Chicago-based Henhouse Prowlers have been bringing their passion for bluegrass to the stage. That stage has grown considerably since they started out, as the band has now toured in more than 25 countries around the globe, performing 175 shows a year.
As Bluegrass Ambassadors with the US State Department, their travels have brought traditional American music as far as Siberia, Uganda, and Saudi Arabia. What’s more, their experiences have inspired their own style, “push[ing] the band in new directions” and shaping their unique sound. And now, you can catch the group performing right here in Saranac Lake!
BluSeed Studios‘ “Live at BluStage” concert series will be kicking off on Wednesday, September 26. Doors open at 7 PM and the concert will begin at 7:30. General admission is $20, or $17 for BluSeed members.
A nonprofit arts organization based in Saranac Lake, BluSeed Studios provides a space for artists, educators, and members of the community to exhibit their work, perform, and engage in new ideas. Following this mission, BluSeed is a full-service art center which “offers an intimate coffee-house type experience.” Be sure to check out the BluSeed Gallery, open Monday through Friday (1 PM to 5 PM), Saturday (12 PM to 5 PM), or by appointment.
