Lakeside School Fall Festival and Open House – Saturday, October 20
On Saturday from 10:00am-1:00pm, the Lakeside School in Essex will host a free and family-friendly Fall Festival and Open House at Black Kettle Farm. Highlights will include a variety of children’s games and activities, puppet shows, cider pressing, face painting, and a chance to learn more about Lakeside School’s programs.
Neighbor Day – Saturday, October 20
View Arts Center in Old Forge will present a special open house and pancake breakfast in celebration of Neighbor Day! Join them for a breakfast with pancakes and real New York maple syrup, a yoga session, a tour of the pottery studio and workshop, and more. Admission is free, but donations will be accepted.

Folk Singer and Songwriter Mike Powell at Adirondack Lakes Center for the Arts – Friday, October 19
Don’t miss out on some amazing folk music as Central NY musician Mike Powell takes the stage at the Adirondack Lakes Center for the Arts in Blue Mountain Lake. Powell is a traveling storyteller and prolific songwriter who has garnered international attention for his music.
Beer Tasting & Lake Clear Lodge Tour – Friday, October 19
This Friday from 4:00pm-6:00pm, trained beer connoisseur Ernest Hohmeyer will lead a tour and beer tasting at the historic Lake Clear Lodge in the Adirondacks. This is a great opportunity to explore the 350 styles of artisanal craft beers in the lodge’s cellar.
The Song of Sway Lake: Joint Benefit for Arts Center and Indian Lake Theater – Sunday, October 21
A unique fundraiser will be held in the Indian Lake area as the Adirondack Lakes Center for the Arts and Indian Lake Theater co-host The Song of Sway Lake. The event will kick off with a movie screening of “The Song of Sway Lake” and then feature a reception at the location where the movie was filmed – Crane Point Lodge in Blue Mountain Lake.

Looking to stretch your legs and run in a race this autumn? Head to Sport Island Pub and Restaurant in Northville on Saturday to participate in the 20th Annual Great Sacandaga Road Race 5 & 10K. Awards will be given to the best runners in various age group categories.
