On Sunday, August 4, car enthusiasts from across the region will descend upon Bicentennial Park for the 27th Annual Ticonderoga Area Car Show. Enjoy a day of prizes, food, and activities, whether you want to enter the competition or just spend the day checking out all the cars on display.
The fun-filled day begins at 9 am and continues through 4 pm. Competitors and spectators alike can enjoy live music and an array of activities, like a Piston Toss and Muffler Wrap, as well as a Kiwanis Duck Race. Food and t-shirts will be on sale, and the youngest attendees can enjoy themselves in a fun kids zone.
Participate in two raffles, a 50/50 and the new 2019 Car Show Raffle. The new raffle offers a first place prize of $2,500, with second place winning $1,500. The $10 tickets are capped at 1,000 total and will be available from the Adirondack Trail Riders Volunteers and Ticonderoga Area Chamber of Commerce. Any remaining raffle tickets will be available at the Car Show.
Judging starts at 11 am and all competitors must arrive by that time. Cars will be judged in a variety of categories, including Favorite Antique, Best Work in Progress, Best Color Scheme, Trail Riders Choice, Most Radical Engine, 1 Super Wheels Prize Package, and Most Likely to Get Pulled Over. Other awards are given for the Fabulous 50, Top 25, and the Best of Show for each in the following categories: car, truck, motorcycle, and display.
The yearly gathering is a qualifier for Boston, MA SuperWheels Showdown. One Best of Show winner will advance to the competition in October.
Admission is free, but competitors must pay to register their cars. It costs only $15 to preregister before August 2 and contestants will be entered into giveaways, and the first 150 will get a dash plaque. If you register upon arrival, the fee is $20.
