The holidays may be over, but there is plenty of fun to be had in the Adirondacks during the winter. Check out these 10 fun events, and maybe even try out snowshoeing to start the year off right.

All Winter
Winterfest has begun! Enjoy all the winter fun Lake George has to offer at a majorly discounted price—the $20 wristband gets you a discount at participating hotels and restaurants, as well as access to horse-drawn carriage rides and hot cocoa, and the $30 wristband gets you all that PLUS a winter activity of your choice! The wristband is good for the entire season.
Phil Edwards Memorial Hockey Tournament
January 6-8
Check out one of the fastest-growing hockey tournaments in the Adirondacks. The tournament runs all weekend long, and any men ages 18 and older can participate. Either enter a team or come out to support one in this fast-paced tournament.

Experience the best Saranac Lake has to offer during the First Friday of the year. The night encourages collaboration between retail shops, restaurants, art venues, and local entertainment, creating an amazing community event where visitors can get more familiar with the amazing village of Saranac Lake.
Naturalist-led Snowshoe Hike at Up Yonda Farm
January 7
Whether you want to try snowshoeing for the first time or you are simply interested in learning about winter in the ‘Dacks, you will definitely want to reserve a spot on this naturalist-led hike. You’ll enjoy learning the basics of snowshoeing as well as animal tracking, winter ecology, and the history of Up Yonda Farm.

Identify a variety of winter birds at the Adirondack Interpretive Center with guest birder Miok Salz. There will be an easy snowshoe walk (snowshoes provided) after spotting birds at AIC’s feeder to see some gorgeous finches in the wild.
