Lake George Winter Carnival Weekend 4
February 25-26
It’s the last weekend of the Lake George Winter Carnival, so if you haven’t been yet, now is the time! Get there early for the chicken wing cook-off—this is one you don’t want to miss! Enjoy s’mores, hot chocolate, and fireworks on Saturday. On Sunday, participate in the outhouse races, or test your strength at the keg toss! There will be cornhole games, bonfires, children’s activities, polar plunges, and more all weekend.
Luminary Snowshoe at Point au Roche State Park

Experience the winter wonderland of Point Au Roche State Park in a unique way! Snowshoe through serene trails, located just outside of the Adirondack Park in Plattsburgh, for an illuminated adventure. The event is free and open to all ages, making it a perfect time to get together with family and friends. Pre-registration is required.
Snow Day at Great Camp Sagamore

Great Camp Sagamore is hosting a special snow day for the community this weekend. Enjoy an unforgettable snow-filled adventure with various activities, including cross-country skiing, ice skating on the lake, sledding, and snowshoeing. After participating in those, you’ll be ready to indulge in cozy warm beverages and delicious chili for lunch. Be sure to make your registration online!

Come celebrate the 21st annual Frozen Fire & Lights at Fern Park this weekend! With tons of exhilarating activities like sledding, ice skating, snowshoeing, and cross-country skiing, there will be things to do all day long. Participate in the annual Cardboard Sled Race, and end off the night watching magical fireworks light up in the sky.
February 25
Check out the Krazy Downhill Derby this weekend on Dynamite Hill in Chestertown! Test your building and creative skills and build your own sled to participate in the derby. There will be music, face painting, s’mores, raffles, and more for all-day fun. Cardboard sleds will take off at 11:30 am, and the Krazy Sleds will take off at noon. Make sure to register your sleds prior to the event.

Looking for a unique way to enjoy the winter season? Head to Tupper Lake for the 2023 BrewSki—a 1.5-mile-long Brewfest. Ski or snowshoe to different brew stations along the cross-country ski trails and taste beers from breweries around New York’s North Country region. So, grab your skis and snowshoes and follow the beer trail.
February 26
The Lake Placid Loppet is returning to Mt Van Hoevenberg this weekend. Take on a slightly modified version of the 1980 Winter Olympics’ 50k course and conquer one of the most challenging citizen races. If the 50k race isn’t your speed, they also have 25, 12, 6, and 3k races. With differing trails, entertainment, and a BBQ in the afternoon, it’s fun for the whole family.
