2023 Saranac Lake Winter Carnival
February 2-12
Also back this year is the 2023 Saranac Lake Winter Carnival! Check out the curling exhibition on Saturday morning, and stick around for the lighting of the Ice Palace and Hotel Saranac’s fireworks display on Saturday evening. If you didn’t get enough of the carnival on Saturday, come back on Sunday to participate in arctic golf, ultimate frisbee games, and the ANCA Flower Ball.
2023 Empire State Winter Games

The Empire State Winter Games are back and better than ever this year. Athletes of all ages and abilities will compete Friday – Sunday in over 25 winter sports, including figure skating, adaptive bobsled, speed skating, and more. This free event is one you don’t want to miss!

Calling all chocolate lovers, this event is for you! We’ve heard of beer flights, but have you ever heard of chocolate flights? Stop by Barkeater Chocolates any time between 1-4 pm on Saturday for a sweet pick-me-up. Enjoy 3 cups of their warm beverages—Barkeater Coffee, Hot Cocoa, and Brewed Cacao—paired with decadent pieces of Marble Cake Bark, Cranberry Coastal Bark, and a Milk Chocolate Disk. Lake George Winter Carnival Weekend 1

Come out to help kick off the first weekend of the Lake George Winter Carnival. With a slew of activities ranging from cook-offs to keg tosses, there’s no possibility of getting bored! Kids and adults alike can take part in events such as outhouse races—a fan favorite—polar plunges, dog talent contests, fireworks displays, and more.
