Battle Cries on Land and Water American Revolution gunshots, war cries and furious pounding of hooves on Adirondack trails still ring in Crowne Point and Fort Ticonderoga, the stages for two key battles. Steamboats carry tourists over the very lakes written about in history books - Lake Champlain saw the destruction of the traitorous Benedict Arnold's fleet, while the shores of Lake George hosted the Battle of Lake George. The Adirondacks are home to several thriving reenactment organizations which are part of an international community of reenactors. |
